Patriotic Funkadelic music is the rage in the US today, when we commemorate our independence from the folks overseas. Of course, independence is a highly overrated word since we seem to be inundated with news of the Royals. Did we not dispense of them back in 1776?
“One Nation Under a Groove” might be one of the best tunes by Funkadelic, or perhaps second to “Flaslight”. We listened to this song as it played over the boom boxes, watching people try out the new dances. Indeed, they hate us for our freedom and our funky chicken.
