Funk is one of the great genres of music that mistakenly gets categorized as “disco” by lazy people. While this music is danceable, it is not disco.
Today’s tune is “I Am Love” by the Jackson 5. This was the band’s last hit for the Motown label, and represents a musical shift to something more adult and serious, a step away from their former pop chart topping tune such as “I Want You Back” and “ABC”. I love this tune because it features Jermaine Jackson as the lead vocalist.
