No words. Just music from back in the day, when Kool and the Gang was still menacingly cool. They seemed to capture the urban rhythms with every song, including this “Summer Madness,” which seemed to mellow out a tough, fast paced day. This is cool down music for a hot summer day. It is also a departure from the earlier Kool and the Gang sound, which was so raunchy and funk filled with its daring lyrics.
This song was also featured as background music in “Rocky,” when it was still a very cool movie about a small time boxer.
Kool and the Gang made many great songs before unraveling to become a disco pop nightmare following the success of “Celebration”.

Ha ha! For a suburban white kid, I grew up listening to bands like Ohio Players, Tower of Power, War, and Kool & the Gang. Fire was the 2nd record I ever bought (Quadrophenia was the 1st).
This was the intro music for a detective show in the 70s but I can’t remember which one.
