Finding perfection in a “Right Place”

A quirky 7-11 worker that demands uniformity, but not conformity, finds his place under the sun in “Right Place,” a delightful very short 5+ minute film.

“Right Place” is a simple, wonderful work from Japan. The main character, a 7-11 employee who dresses to work in a smart suit and briefcase, tries to interject his need for order and perfection into a chaotic environment filled with wayward customers intent on throwing off his balance. For the crowd that still likes to preach on about the Japanese hive mentality, “Right Place” brilliantly embraces eccentricities in the way that most Japanese do, as if it were another necessary element in life.

This film has already won many major festival awards, including the prestigious “Best Short Film” at the Cannes Film Festival.
